After running a training session on Tuesday I had an interesting conversation with one of the delegates, who was a trained teacher and qualified librarian, about the accessibility of FOSILĀ terminology for primary school children. I was wondering if there is anyone on here who may be working with FOSIL and primary children who could comment on how they work with the FOSIL cycle and the terminology in particular.
I have worked in primary schools and used FOSIL especially in year 4 and year 6 and they did not have a problem with the cycle and understanding the words but how do people approach this with even younger children? Is it a case of simplifying it in some way?
