I have been having an interesting conversation with my son, who is Head of Christian Theology, about independent students.
His school is focusing on ‘Independence, Thinking, Learning and Coping’
He started off by asking these questions…
- What does a student/person who is a critical thinker or is independent, look like?
- What qualities would they have?
- Why is the school library/librarian essential for this?
- What does a critical thinker look like once they leave school?
If you were to answer these questions what would you say?
I have shared with him a couple of the presentations about inquiry as an educational and moral imperative
and the one about health literacy https://fosil.org.uk/forums/topic/health-literacy-and-school-librarians/ as he was asking about after school.
Also, https://fosil.org.uk/forums/topic/fosil-and-the-ib-diploma-plrogramme-extended-essay/ as we were also talking about ‘coping’
I would be grateful if you could share your thoughts below… Just something easy for the beginning of 2022 😂.
Happy New Year!
