Hello, I am about half way through the FOSIL enquiry of learning with a year 8 class at the Halley Academy in South East London. They are putting together their presentations but I wanted to give them the chance to assess their own work before handing it in.

On the website it suggests this is a good thing to do: “Providing students with a marking rubric so that they can pre-assess their own work and make improvements before handing it in. This should include some credit for using reputable, authoritative and appropriate resources and referencing appropriately.”

How do I provide them with a marking rubric – is there a template online I can use?

      Many thanks,

      Michael

        Hi,

I’m Michael and I’m a learning resource coordinator (fancy word for a librarian!) at the Halley Academy, Blackheath. I’ve only been in the post since January 2020 but am very much looking forward to experimenting with the Fosil framework to help improve information literacy in the school. We are running an IB programme so I’m positive teachers will be open-minded to the framework!

Looking forward to having discussions on how best to work with teachers in class on some interesting subjects/using tech!

        Michael
