After my success with yr 6 Inspirational Leaders, I decided to approach some yr 4 teachers who were about to study Indian as their next topic. I had been looking at using technology to engage our teachers and this seemed the perfect opportunity. Teachers are being encourage to use technology but don’t always have the time to make connections or learn how to use something new. I had run a few Google Hangouts and offered to connect them with an Indian lady (my daughter-in-law) to tell the children about India and then to answer some questions. They loved the idea as this was ticking a box for them.

What it enabled me to do was to integrate inquiry-based learning into the project and the outcomes were wonderful. These teachers now are able to use the online resources themselves and ask for support from the school librarian more as a result.
