Free book – Instruction in Libraries and Information centres

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this CC book INSTRUCTION IN LIBRARIES AND INFORMATION CENTERS https://iopn.library.illinois.edu/books/windsor-downs/catalog/book/12  and if so what did you make of it? I have quite a lot on my plate at the moment and so I was hoping for a review before I take the plunge into it in depth.

I’ve just had a quick look, Ruth.

What I’ve learned from my time on the IFLA Section Standing Committee for School Libraries is that there is a wide gap between university colleagues in the US who are writing for school librarians and those writing for academic librarians. The authors do not appear to have a school focus, which, in my opinion, limits the value of the book, especially if you are pressed for time.

Although not free, for my money I have found Information Literacy and Information Skills Instruction: New Directions for School Libraries to be a good investment.
