I am delighted to announce that I have been elected Secretary of the Standing Committee of the School Libraries Section of IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions).

This is an unexpected development but gratefully accepted for the opportunity that it presents to contribute more fully to the development of our profession, thinking globally and acting locally.
