Good morning all,
After some time (apologies) I am returning to implementing FOSIL in our school and working on the early stages of creating a handbook for FOSILĀ via the IB ATLs.
Before I reinvent the wheel – is there a template for the footers that I can adapt please? I think that explicitly reinforcing the skill is a great idea and if I am going to share my resource here I would like to to appear to fit in with what you have done.
Thanks and best wishes to you all,
Ruth
Good morning, Ruth, and thanks.
There is and we will try to upload it this afternoon.
I am so pleased that you are returning to this and look forward to finding out more.
Take care,
Darryl
Hi Ruth. Sorry for the delay – we’re deep in the busy part of Extended Essay season at the moment, so between co-preparing and delivering the student IT workshop and supervisor INSET, I’ve been pretty busy! Amazing how long it takes every year because there’s always the drive to keep on improving – and online delivery presents new opportunities as well as challenges.
The templates you need are now in the resources section. I’ve included boxes with RGB and Hex values for all the FOSIL colours (and you can easily ‘lift’ the colours directly from the boxes with no typing because if you select the box and choose ‘more … colours’ for either border or shading, then close the dialog window, Word puts them into your recent colours. Apologies if that is obvious.). Once you delete these coloured boxes and the two instruction boxes, you have a template with the appropriate headers and footers.
I’ve included a template copyright statement in the footer because it’s always good to share Creative Commons resources and it’s easiest to have this on from the start. We’d love to see what you produce.
This is really good news… I am looking forward to seeing other lessons go up over time!
Thank you so much for sharing these. Now I can work on encouraging greater uptake, having created some prototypes for our school. When I have managed to create something in collaboration with a teacher, and it is used, I’ll share it.
